About
Greenwright, Inc. is a full service design/build, construction, and consulting firm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that specializes in new construction, adaptive reuse, and restoration projects that utilize responsible building practices and sustainable design. With more than 50 years of combined experience, we have developed a keen eye for detail and a respectful appreciation for enduring craftsmanship – two things that are often lacking in much of today’s mass produced design and construction methods. Greenwright, Inc. seeks to challenge the status quo in design and building assembly by integrating the most successful time-tested building practices of the past with the best of modern construction technology and building innovation that will lead to a healthier and more sustainable future.

Robert M. Petito
President
Although Rob, a PHIUS Certified Builder, has been working in the trades for more than 20 years, his interest and hands-on experience date back to his tenure as resident constructor of sheds, treehouses, and water features in his childhood back yard. By the end of the first semester of high school shop class, he was selected to teach other students the basics of woodworking. Over the years, Rob trained extensively with careful, versatile craftsmen on a variety of projects both in the custom home market of New York’s Capital District as well as in the Greater Philadelphia area, and he routinely employs and adapts the broad skill set he has developed in approaching both new and familiar situations. Rob holds a BA in Philosophy from Hampshire College. Combined with the outlook cultivated in his academic pursuits, which focused specifically on sustainability, he brings a unique perspective to the work, whether in the field or when meeting with clients.
Outside of working in and on the built environment, Rob’s interests include: hiking, biking, SCUBA diving, cooking, music, metaphysics, meditation, and yoga, to name a few. He and his wife reside in Philadelphia.

Robert A. Petito Jr.
AIA, Architect
Mr. Petito has over thirty years experience in architecture, adaptive use, rehabilitation and restoration projects, and preservation planning and has worked for well known architectural and preservation firms including John Milner Associates in Philadelphia, PA, Mesick Cohen Waite Architects and John G. Waite Associates, Architects in Albany, NY, where he was a principal in the latter firm. Mr. Petito brings to the field of historical architectural work a keen interest in historic and existing buildings, and the challenges faced in reusing existing buildings for new uses. He has experience working with historic review agencies in balancing issues between project goals and preservation objectives. A “hands-on” architect, Mr. Petito is interested in the making of buildings, and construction and archaic building technology, and has a great appreciation for the work of often anonymous crafts and trades persons whose skill and workmanship can often only be recognized by tooling marks or hand craftsmanship.
